Pellet Stove Parts: Auger, Igniter, Burn Pot & Pellet Components
Pellet Stove Parts: Auger, Igniter, Burn Pot & Pellet Components
Short answer: if your pellet stove won't feed, won't light, or won't burn cleanly, the part you need is almost always one of four things — the auger (feed system), the igniter (start-up), the burn pot (combustion chamber), or a pellet component (hopper, door, exhaust adapter, and similar hardware). The NorthFlame stocks genuine replacement parts for all four, and ships across Canada and the United States.
The NorthFlame is an authorized SBI International distributor. SBI International is the parent company behind Drolet, Osburn, Enerzone, Valcourt, PSG and Ventis, and every part on this page carries the manufacturer's own SKU as its part number — so it is model-specific, not a universal fit. Check your stove's model before ordering, or use the part finder below.
1. Auger — the motor that feeds pellets to the fire
The auger (vis sans fin, in the parts trade) is the motorized screw that carries pellets out of the hopper and down into the burn pot on a set schedule. When it fails, the stove typically still lights but starves for fuel within minutes, or the hopper stays full while nothing drops.
Signs you need this part: the stove won't feed pellets even though the hopper is full; you hear grinding or a motor straining without the auger turning; the feed motor runs but the shaft doesn't rotate (a sign of a stripped gear or a sheared pin, not just the motor).
Auger motors are sized by RPM to match a specific feed rate — browse a few examples we stock: Auger Motor (1 RPM), Gear Motor BLDC 4.2 RPM, and Gear Motor 3.5 RPM, plus wear parts like the black nylon bushing that supports the auger shaft.

2. Igniter — what lights the pellets automatically
The igniter is a small electric heating element that glows hot enough to ignite the pellets in the burn pot at start-up, so you never need a lighter or torch. Igniters are a wear part: most run once or twice a day during heating season and lose output gradually.
Signs you need this part: the stove no longer self-ignites and needs to be lit manually; start-up takes far longer than usual, or triggers an ignition-failure error on the controller; the element glows dim orange instead of the usual bright red-orange.
Examples we stock: Igniter 24V DC – 150W, Pellet Igniter 120V with Allen set screw, Pellet Stove Igniter (threaded), and the cartridge heater used on several models.

3. Burn pot — where the pellets actually burn
The burn pot (sometimes called a fire pot or firebox liner) is the small metal basket that holds the burning pellets while combustion air is forced through it from below. It takes the most direct heat and abrasion of any part in the stove, so it's a normal wear item on a stove with a few heating seasons on it.
Signs you need this part: cracking, warping, or holes that let ash fall through instead of air rising into the flame; hard clinkers (fused ash) building back up right after cleaning; poor or uneven flame shape, or a soot/error-code pattern that points to combustion air problems.
Examples we stock: Burn Pot (PAH-BPS), Burn Pot for stove model 10-CPM, and the fire pot latch that holds it in place.

4. Pellet components — hopper, doors, exhaust & more
Beyond the three core wear parts above, pellet stoves rely on a set of supporting hardware: hopper lids, lower doors, exhaust adapter pipes, and cast iron spigots among them. These fail less often but are just as necessary when they do.
Examples we stock: Hopper Lid, Lower Door, Exhaust Adapter Pipe, and the cast iron spigot.

Finding the exact part for your stove
Every part on this page carries a SKU that is the manufacturer's own part number — not a NorthFlame-assigned code — so it maps directly to a specific stove model rather than fitting "most pellet stoves." Look up your model on our Parts & Manuals page to confirm the exact SKU before ordering, or contact us with your model number and we'll confirm fitment.
Quick answers
What part causes a pellet stove to stop feeding pellets?
Almost always the auger motor — either a worn gearbox that stalls under load, or a sheared shaft/pin that lets the motor spin without turning the auger. Confirm the hopper actually has pellets and that nothing is jammed in the feed tube before ordering a replacement motor.
Why won't my pellet stove ignite on its own anymore?
The igniter has likely reached the end of its service life. In normal daily heating-season use, igniters commonly last one to three seasons before the element can no longer reach ignition temperature. If start-up now needs a manual assist or the controller throws an ignition error, replace the igniter.
How do I know if my burn pot needs replacing?
Look for physical damage — cracks, warping, or holes — and for clinkers that rebuild quickly after cleaning. A damaged burn pot lets ash fall where combustion air should rise, which shows up as poor flame shape, more smoke, or airflow-related error codes.
Are these parts compatible with my stove, no matter the brand?
Compatibility is model-specific, not universal. The NorthFlame is an authorized SBI International distributor — SBI is the parent company of Drolet, Osburn, Enerzone, Valcourt, PSG and Ventis — and each part's SKU is the manufacturer's own part number for a given model. Confirm your exact model on the Parts & Manuals page or contact us before ordering.
Where do you ship pellet stove parts?
We ship across Canada and the United States. Orders are processed seven days a week and shipped Monday through Friday. We are not able to ship to a P.O. Box — a physical delivery address is required. Some US regions (Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and other US territories) carry a shipping surcharge — see our Shipping Policy for full details.
What is the return and warranty policy on pellet stove parts?
Most unused parts can be returned within 30 days of delivery in their original packaging, subject to a 10% inspection and restocking fee. Parts replaced under warranty carry a 90-day limited warranty (accessories carry six months). Full terms are on our Return Policy and Warranty pages.
